Headies 2015 Prestigious music award show moved to New Year's Day The organizers announce that the highly anticipated show will now hold on New Year’s Day Friday, January 1, 2016.

10th edition of The Headies, hitherto scheduled to hold on Wednesday December 30, 2015 has now been moved by two days.

In a news release issued this morning, and broadcast on Hip TV, the organizers Smooth Promotions announce that the highly anticipated show will now hold on New Year’s Day Friday, January 1, 2016.
The statement does not give reasons for the push, but suggests the postponement adds another opportunity for the organizers to deliver an event many expect to be truly remarkable.
The event will now coincide with the equally hugely anticipated January 1st concert by Ali Baba.

The Headies 2015 is hosted by Kaffy and Bovi, with performances from 2Face, Vector, Falz, Iyanya, Seyi Shay, Adekunle Gold, Olamide, Simi, Victoria Kimani, Eva Alordiah and more.

Olamide is top of the nomination table for this year's Headies with eight nods including – Best Pop single, Rap Album, Best Collaboration (twice), Best Street-Hop Artiste, Album of the Year, Artiste of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Following closely is Wizkid, who has seven nominations in Recording of the Year, Best RnB/Pop Album, Best Pop Single, Best Collabo, Album of the Year, Artiste of the year, and Song of the Year.
Contending for one of the biggest awards of the night – Artiste of the year are Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, and P-Square.

The show which was hosted by OAP Toolz, and Comedian Basketmouth saw a mammoth crowd in attendance.
The rapper was joined by other top musicians including Eva, Burna Boy, Adekunle Gold, Phyno, Lil Kesh, Pasuma and many others.
Olamide performed all the songs from his recently released "Eyan Mayweather" album and also switched things further with performances of songs from his previous albums. The crowd was thrilled by performances from the YBNL boss and other artistes that were present at the event.

But there have been mixed reviews from those who saw the show live, with many, including Don Jazzy complaining about the (lack 0f) energy from VVIP guests who occupied the front row.
Co-headliners Wizkid and Davido were also MIA with no explanations, while many of the artistes present were criticised for miming and lip syncing.
